About us

By dancers, for dancers

Latin Vibes is a Copenhagen dance association, run by people who love Latin dance — Bachata & Salsa — and dedicated to growing the community around it.

Welcome to Latin Vibes

Who we are

Welcome to Latin Vibes

We're a Copenhagen dance association focused on Bachata and Salsa. We run weekly classes, bootcamps with international teachers, social nights and the Latin Vibes Festival.

Everyone is welcome, whether it's your very first class or you've been dancing for years.

Why we do it

Our goal

To make Latin dance easy to start, fun to keep doing, and a place where people meet and grow together. Our primary goal is to invest in the Latin dance community, so what we earn goes back into classes, events and the people who make them happen.

1

Learn

Structured courses and bootcamps, from your very first steps to advanced technique.

2

Dance

Socials, parties and our festival — where you put it all into practice.

3

A friendly, welcoming crowd that makes you want to come back every week.

Bachata, Salsa & more

What we dance

Bachata, Salsa & more

Bachata & Salsa

Bachata brings the connection: smooth hip movement, close partner work and romantic, guitar-driven music. Its roots go back to the Dominican Republic in the 1960s, where it started as music of the countryside and working-class neighbourhoods. In the 1990s and 2000s it reached a much bigger audience. Once it became popular in Europe, it grew into new styles like Sensual, Moderna, Fusion and Bachazouk. Whatever the style, from traditional to modern, the core stays the same: connection, musicality and flow with your partner on the dance floor.

Salsa brings the energy: quick footwork, spins and playful partner work to big, joyful music. Its roots go back to Cuban son and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. It took shape in New York in the 1960s and 70s, where Cuban and Puerto Rican musicians mixed those sounds into something new. Since then it has spread across the world and grown into styles like Cuban Salsa (Casino and Rueda), LA style (On1), New York style (On2) and the fast, flashy Colombian (Cali) style. Whatever the style, it's about rhythm, energy and having fun with your partner on the dance floor.

Code of conduct

A safe floor for everyone

Latin Vibes should feel safe, fun and welcoming for everyone. By joining our classes, socials and festival, you agree to these guidelines. We take every report seriously: if we receive a harassment complaint, the person involved will get a warning. If a warning is ignored, or the harassment is serious, we reserve the right to ban that person from our classes and future events, without a refund.

1

Respect & consent

Ask, don't assume. It's always OK to say no to a dance — and to accept a no with a smile.

2

Dance within your partner's comfort

Adapt to your partner's level and comfort. No lifts or tricks without clear consent.

3

Zero tolerance for harassment

Harassment or discrimination of any kind is not accepted — on or off the dance floor. Read more about harassment here

4

Hygiene & care

Come fresh: clean clothes, deodorant, a spare T-shirt and mints go a long way.

5

Welcome everyone

Dance with beginners and new faces. Everyone is welcome, whatever their age or background.

6

Ask before filming

Ask your partner before recording, and respect anyone who doesn't want to be on camera.
